...Taking each other for granted is all part of a good relationship as long as it is balanced and not extreme. In fact it is crucial. You have to know that you can depend on your partner and vice versa, but life can get in the way.
This reliance on another person stems from our knowledge of them, we understand how they will react in certain circumstances and, to a limited degree, we can read their minds on occasion.
Although this is a good thing, at times we expect them to “just know” instead of using proper communication. For instance, telling them that we love them or simply assuming that they already know.
Regardless of how comfortable a person is in a relationship, if they constantly feel or are made feel that they belong at the bottom of a very long list of priorities, they may eventually leave.
Feelings of resentment can grow over time and, when they do, they can get in the way of all other feelings...
